Brett Signing Packs BPL: On Friday, September 7, an estimated 1,000 guests filled the Boston Public Library in what library president Bernard Margolis called the best-attended event ever held at the historic Copley Square landmark. The occasion was the book launch for Bill Brett’s new collection of portraits of community leaders, Boston, An Extended Family. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives Salvatore DiMasi spoke, congratulating Brett and his collaborator, Carol Beggy, who were mobbed by guests and signed books far into the night.
